About Us

Our aim was to bring a litte piece of Philly to the residents of Tidewater. We strive to sell the best product possible, at a price that is fair to both our customers, as well as us. We cut corners on everything, except the quality of the food and how we handle it. Our prices are not raised until we have not made a profit for three months. After that we have no choice except to raise the price. Some might use less meat or a cheaper grade to offset the cost. We don't and never will.

Each sandwich is prepared to order. This, at times, creates a wait, but we think it is well worth it. Who else cooks a whole turkey to make their turkey subs?

Over the years, people have asked why we close during the summer and at Christmas. Our employees need the break. Restaurant work is hard. Closing assures everyone the break that is necessary to cope with the stress of this business. Our employees are what make us great. We have two ladies who have been with us for the 25 years we have been open. Another has worked with us for 22 years and several more have worked for us between 5 and 15 years. This is a rarity in the fast food business, and this is what makes us the best.

Credit cards are another issue. Why don't we accept them? The fees the credit card companies would charge us is unbelievably high. It would cost us more than our rent each month if we accepted them. This cost would have to passed on to you, as every other business does. We think that it is better for all of us if we keep our prices as low as possible.

That is us in a nut shell. Thank you for letting us serve you for the past 25 years. It's been hard work, but fun and we hope to continue to bring a little taste of Philly to you.
